2009 (5769) WILL MARK THE 99TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FOUNDING OF THE BOY SCOUTS IN THE UNITED STATES.

The Suffolk County Jewish Committee on Scouting, services youth within the scouting program. There are 4 religious emblems, Tiger thru Bear=Maccabbee; Cubs thru Webelos=Aleph; Boy Scouts=Ner Tamid and Scouts (boys and girls) 14 years old and over=Etz Chaim. We supply Jewish services at campouts and summer camp. We use the Silverman Chapel at Baiting Hollow Boy Scout Camp. We present ALL Eagle Scouts, Venturer's Silver Award and Sea Scouts Quartermaster Award when invited to their court of honor. We invite ALL scouts of all religions to ALL our events (campouts, Sabbath Services, etc.). We are here to help all scouts as our experience in scouting covers over 100 years collectively. We are a resource for your scouting needs. All you have to do is ask.
We also support the Girl Scouts when the achieve their Gold Award by sending a Beautiful personalized certificate.
We also support the Northeast region and National Jewish Committees. We are always looking for your support. Come join our committee which meets once a month. Send your email address to

We also will take usable old computers and Amateur radio equipment which can be sold for our fundraising needs.

Sunday, August 2- Israeli Scout Caravan performances -location will be at Temple Beth El in Huntington. Show times will be 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. There will be a limited number of seats available so get your tickets early. Tickets ARE $5 each. There will also be a patch available for purchase.
